Hi, I’m Beth Slikas (she/her/hers), and I am a research scientist in the SMack lab at Arizona State University. My role is to ensure that the lab runs smoothly. In that regard, I assist with lab safety training, ordering of supplies, equipment maintenance and repair, and developing and improving lab protocols. I am also available to help trouble-shoot problems in the wet lab or with data analysis. My scientific background is in evolutionary biology, population genetics, and phylogenetics. I’ve worked on a variety of organisms, from viruses to whales. Outside the lab, I enjoy rowing, fencing, horseback riding, and birding.
